KOMON WOOD CLOCK(MIYABI / Black）

This clock features a geometric and simple Komon pattern that is designed to highlight the texture of the wood. Using the techniques for making wooden craft bowls, artisans carefully carve each clock from a single piece of solid wood. From a distance, the wood grain stands out, but up close, the delicate Komon pattern becomes visible.

The design represents the weave of a bamboo basket. It has long been an auspicious pattern believed to “catch good fortune.”

This product won the 2021 JAPAN WOOD DESIGN AWARD.
